2011 Year in Review | 12.25.11 |
2011 has been a fantastic year for us with some great ups and few downs. From releasing our first LP with the help of great friend Jason Terrell to touring the east coast, we’ve played some great shows and have been fortunate to share some great memories…
Although we lost a close friend and fellow member Joel Chasco whom we lived with for some fun filled years, we wish him the best! Joel – keep making those awesome Side Cars and B&G! and Go Bulls!
After months of searching for a bassist, we had a coincidental encounter with someone at one of our last performances of the year.
After some rigorous practicing and playing, we are proud to announce our new friend and amazing bassist Andrew Manktelow has officially joined the ranks. He hails from North Bay, Ontario Canada and can speak a little French – that is, when he’s a had a drink or two. Looking forward to writing the next chapter with you man!
This year we’ve worked with some incredible people that have truly touched us and allowed us to succeed:
including great friend / photographer Wallo Villacorta – whose photo you see above. Wallo has done so much for us, taking snapshots, designing posters, prints, graphics, web development, throwing sweet house parties, etc. We can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done and can’t wait for our next photo adventure! For now – check out the amazing Public Works, which Wallo has helped curate.
including design gurus Nate & Landry – aka you’re doing it wrong , & Michael K – who have worked so hard in giving “Color Radio” a sweet facelift in design / website development. Check out their work!

including Kimberly Manning (staff writer for Pop ‘stache), Erica Quinn, and Carolyn Witaske for helping us spread the word about the band throughout the year!
including Shaun Barrett / 4 Ohm for truly confiding in our capabilities, giving us the tools that we needed to succeed , and for encouraging us to push our boundaries creatively. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
including Jason Terrell, a great friend and partner in crime. He has made a lot of what we’ve accomplished this year possible – like when our van died in Dixon, IL and Jason rented a van for us to finish out the tour. Thanks for sticking with us and believing in what we do. We’re looking forward to all the madness in 2012!

We’d also like to thank all the local bloggers, promoters, and venues including Jaime Black from Chicago Verse United, Rebecca and her crew at Betta Promotions who have done SO MUCH to revamp the local scene, Deli Magazine, Loud Loop Press, Empty Bottle, The Whistler, House Call Entertainment, Schubas, and many more for helping us and fellow local bands get the word out and for providing an avenue for our music to be heard!
Something we don’t often get to do enough is thank all the fellow local bands whom we’ve graced the stage with and had some good times with through out the years….

Lastly, we’d like to thank all our friends, family, and fans who have made it to our shows this year, bought/listened to our music & merch, supported our cause, and make us love what we do even more.
We have tons in store for 2012 i.e. loads more touring (west/east coasts), SXSW, new recordings, summer festivals, and more wild and crazy fun!
